In the face of steadily increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Vietnam, the demand for high-quality technical human resources has never been more urgent. International corporations, particularly those from Asian nations, are actively scouting for young engineers who possess not only solid technical expertise but also linguistic proficiency and the ability to thrive in a globalized workspace.

Capitalizing on this trend, Thuyloi University—through the Institute of Applied Technology and Enterprise Cooperation (IATEC)—has implemented a “custom-tailored” training model. This strategic initiative serves as a bridge, tightly aligning university education with the practical demands of the labor market.

The foundation of this program was laid following a high-level visit by the University Board to China. There, they engaged in direct discussions with senior representatives from Dongchuang Company to align on human resource requirements and long-term cooperation goals.

On October 29, 2025, after extensive coordination, IATEC officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dongchuang Company, marking the formal launch of this demand-driven training program.
On March 7, 2026, these 15 elite engineers officially departed for China to begin a three-month intensive internship. During this period, they will:
-
Receive specialized professional training.
-
Gain hands-on experience with modern production technologies and industrial processes.
-
Cultivate work experience within an international corporate environment.Upon completion of their internship, these students will return to Vietnam, ready to apply their newly acquired expertise as integral members of the company’s engineering workforce.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Yen The, Director of IATEC, the custom-tailored model is a vital pathway to closing the gap between the lecture hall and the labor market.
“Our goal is to cultivate engineers who are both technically proficient and linguistically capable, fully prepared to succeed in an international environment,” he emphasized.
By involving enterprises directly in the training process, the program does more than just offer students a clear career path; it contributes a high-quality workforce to FDI enterprises in an era of deep global integration.
