The youth of Chinese Language students at Thuy Loi University (TLU) is not just confined to textbooks and grammar lessons in the lecture hall. It is also defined by valuable practical experiences—trips that answer the ultimate question: “Who will we be on the future career map?”

On the afternoon of April 9th, the K65 Chinese Language students of Thuy Loi University embarked on an insightful field trip to Wistron Infocomm (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. – a “titan” in the global technology industry.
For those who may not know, Wistron Corporation is one of the world’s leading ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) producers. It proudly ranks among the Fortune Global 500 and is recognized as one of the top 10 most powerful tech companies in Taiwan. This is the “global factory” that manufactures laptops, mobile devices, and servers for billion-dollar brands such as Apple, Dell, and Microsoft.
In Vietnam, Wistron Infocomm is located in Dong Van III Industrial Zone (Ha Nam). Operating since 2021, this plant not only produces high-tech products but also makes a significant impact as part of the production ecosystem for SpaceX components.

Many students assume that studying Chinese only leads to traditional translation roles. However, this trip opened up a whole new perspective. At Wistron, career doors are wide open for language students in various “cool” positions:
- Office Block: Professional Interpreters, Human Resources (HR), Purchasing, Production Planning, Import-Export, Account Management, NPI (New Product Introduction), and more.
- Engineering Block: Open to students with an additional passion for IT, Automation, SMT, or AOI. Notably, the compensation package for interns at Wistron left many students “in awe”:
- Basic Allowance: Ranging from 8,000,000 VND to 12,000,000 VND per month.
- Welfare & Benefits: Free shift meals, company shuttle buses, dormitory support, and various other utility services.

Throughout the field trip, K65 students had the opportunity to: witness firsthand the professional and closed-loop operational processes of a global technology enterprise and to listen to valuable insights from experts regarding modern translation and interpretation skills. It’s not just about language proficiency, but also understanding production workflows and having a “tech mindset.”. They aslo gain a deeper understanding of the perfect synergy between language and technology in practical manufacturing.

The trip concluded, but the smiles and excitement remained on the faces of every student. Minh Anh, a K65 student, shared: “This trip is a huge motivation for us to keep honing our Chinese ‘capital.’ It turns out our career opportunities are much broader than we ever imagined!”
On behalf of the students, SIE, and the TLU Chinese Language Department, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors of Wistron Company and our teachers for creating such a meaningful “out-of-classroom” learning experience.
