Global Affairs Canada Scholarship Opportunities: Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development [SEED]

You are receiving this message to notify you that the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development [SEED] Program call for applications 2021-2022 is open!

The SEED scholarship program offers funding to Undergraduate and Graduate students from Southeast Asiawho wish to come to Canada for short-term study or research

Summary of last year’s application cycle:

Application Process for Global Affairs Undergraduate and Graduate Students

(Undergraduate applications are coordinated by the International Student and Study Abroad Centre; Graduate applications are coordinated by the International Office.)

1.      Undergraduate Student Applications (Course-Based):

 

a.      Thursday, January 21st 2021 at midnight CST - Nomination: The International Student and Study Abroad Centre (ISSAC) coordinates all undergraduate student applications. To nominate your students, complete the attached nomination form and email it to [email protected].

 

b.      Monday, February 8th 2021 at midnight CST –

 

                                                             i.      Online Registration: After receiving your nominations, the student will receive an email with the online Admissions application link.

 

The student will upload one of the following:

-          English Proficiency document

o   A signed letter from the Faculty of English in your institution or;

o   A signed letter from your International Coordinator confirming  level of English language skills or;

o   Evidence of completion of the IELTS (minimum band score 6.5) or TOEFL (minimum paper-based score of 550/internet based score of 80)

-          Official Academic Transcript Of Records

-          English translation of transcript (if original is not in English)

-          Optional: Photo

 

 

                                                             ii.      Global Affairs scholarship applicationAll of the Global Affairs supporting documents must be submitted to [email protected] by the home institution’s mobility coordinator. Applications submitted directly by students will not be considered. These documents must be sent to [email protected] on or beforeFebruary 8th 2021 at midnight CST.

 

The supporting documents include:

-          Proof of citizenship

-          Proof of full-time enrolment (Template attached)

-          Letter of intent from the candidate (Please ensure that this includes how your study or research in Canada will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and SEED program mandates)

-          Letter of support from the home institution

-          Privacy notice statement (attached)

-          Global Affairs scholarship application form (attached)

Undergraduate Students applying to the Global Affairs scholarship will be registered at the University of Saskatchewan as exchange students, therefore the terms outlined in our mobility agreement for exchange will apply to all Global Affairs applicants.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

 

2.      Graduate Student Applications (Research-Based)

The International Office coordinates all graduate student and faculty applications. To start the process of submitting Graduate student/Faculty applications please contact [email protected] with the subject heading “Global Affairs Scholarship”.

a.       Deadline Janury 21st 2021 at midnight CST – Nomination: List of required documents:

 

                                                                     i.            Applicant’s CV

                                                                   ii.            Applicant’s statement of research interest: a letter in English from the applicant describing the nature of their research to be undertaken at the University of Saskatchewan.

 

                                                                 iii.            Transcript from all past and present post-secondary institutions

 

b.      February 15th 2021 at midnight CST – Global Affairs Scholarship Application:

 

                                                               i.      All of the Global Affairs supporting documents must be sent to [email protected] by the student, please also cc your mobility coordinator at your home institution.

 

The supporting documents include:

-          Proof of citizenship

-          Proof of full-time enrolment (Template attached)

-          Letter of intent from the candidate (Please ensure that this includes how your study or research in Canada will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and SEED program mandates)

-          Letter of support from the home institution

-          Letter of invitation from the Canadian supervisor

-          Privacy notice statement (attached)

-          Global Affairs Canada scholarship application form (attached)
